EVENT SYNOPSIS:
Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute instructors David Strasberg and Dylan Mooney share how Method Acting, the renowned, proven and often mysterious acting technique, remains an essential piece of the modern filmmaker’s toolbox. They discuss what you actually need to know to work with Method Actors on set, how to get the best performance out of any Actor, and how filmmakers can maximize their resources for high-quality content on an indie-budget.
DAVID LEE STRASBERG
Son to the legendary acting coaches Lee & Anna Strasberg, David is the current CEO and Artistic Director of the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute. With an M.A. in Business Administration from Anderson School of Management at UCLA and a B.A. in International Relations and in American History from Brown University, David teaches his father’s work in Los Angeles, New York, and international workshops around the globe. He oversees many of the Institute’s new initiatives, including its first ever associate degree program, an exciting curricular focus on writers and filmmakers, as well as developing pathways for current students and alumni to thrive in a competitive entertainment industry.
DYLAN MOONEY
An American-born actor, producer and entrepreneur from Santa Barbara, CA. Dylan works in television and film distribution—recently announcing the partnership between his production company Laurel & Back Productions and the streaming platform Red Coral Universe. Currently, Dylan is recurring on the hit BET+ show The Family Business, and just completed two supporting roles in the feature films The Comic Shop and Persona, which will be released later this year. In 2019 Dylan began teaching at The Lee Strasberg Theater & Film Institute, where he currently teaches The Business of Acting course. Dylan graduated from Cal-State L.A. with a Degree in Theater Arts & Dance.
